FRP statues are popular decorations for public property and indoor spots. People are attracted by their various designs and colors. Therefore, the custom sculpture should be designed with creativity and be related with themes. Besides, the fabrication of fiberglass statue is also crucial to a successful custom sculpture. Today we will share the specific molding making process with you.
Mold making is the key step to FRP molding process, which usually uses gypsum material silicone rubber and glass fiber reinforced plastic to make the mold. The materials have great mobility and plasticity. The reason why fiberglass custom statue gets popular is due to the versatility of raw materials. A good silicone rubber is usually painted several times in the original mold with the silicone rubber layer more than 1mm. And rubber elastomer has greater elastic deformation feature. The cross-linked silicone rubber features good seal so original mold get detached easily, perfect for making custom fiberglass mold so as to ensure smooth stripping. After the silicone rubber is then fixed with glass fiber reinforced plastic layer. After the glass fiber is cured, the whole mold is cut along the divided unit block, and the glass fiber layer and the silicone rubber layer are cut at the same time.
The molding step is crucial process for the whole manufacturing fabrication. The connection metal frames are made between the units to ensure that the unit block molds are integrally formed. After the above works are completed, the fiberglass unit block stripping to take off the silicone rubber layer immediately back into the glass fiber reinforced plastic module. The structural enhancement is based on the reinforced materials and metal profiles welding into a carving plastic skeleton to improve the rigidity and strength of FRP sculpture and its service life.
