The techniques of fiberglass sculptures fabrication develop in sculpture customization industry with the industry history over thousands of years. The contemporary art sculpture are made of various natural materials mud, wood, stone to bronze, porcelain, alloy to artificial materials. Mold making progress. Based on designs made by sculptures designers who followed customers’ requirements and measurements, our artisans make the basic mold or cast. Gypsum mold is disposable, generally can produce one or two products, while glass fiber reinforced plastic mold is useful for a long time to produce about 80-120 products.

First, the gelcoat is coated on the surface, spread the resin on the surface of the glass fiber reinforced plastic mold with a brush, so that it is thoroughly penetrated. Repeat that process until reach the required thickness. The thickness of the glass fiber reinforced plastic sculpture is determined according to the product.

As to surface treatment, use180 mesh sandpaper to polish the surface stripping wax, and filled the pores on the surface with atomic ash so that closing line is worn off. Then polish with 220 mesh sandpaper, touch up details with fine red ash. Then smooth with 800 mesh sandpaper, start spraying car paint and to dry. After the finish is qualified, start to make the logo or pattern, and then spray a coat of car varnish to ensure the brightness of the product and protect the durability of the paint.
