Cast copper sculptures feature long history in China, often used in the fabrication and production of fine sculptures, but the cast copper sculpture oxidizes and corrodes easily, so we must pay attention to daily maintenance and regularly clean the cast copper sculpture, gently wipe the surface with a clean, dry, soft cotton cloth. It is best to brush some places with trenches or use muslin wipe to achieve the polishing effect.

It can be fixed with epoxy resin and copper powder mixed and glued to the copper carving. As an adhesive, epoxy resin has a strong adhesive force. For those copper sculptures whose surfaces have been mineralized, the only way to make the relics solid is to maximize the overall shape and stabilize the deteriorated oxides, carbonates and other salts of the metal. The filling material can be a fiberglass fabric impregnated with a colored epoxy or polyester resin for overall reinforcement.

Furthermore, the environment should be kept dry and free of pollutants. The room temperature is best controlled between 18°C and 24°C. When we maintain the cast copper sculpture, we should avoid the erosion of external chemicals, such as acid, alkali and chloride. Proper maintenance will surely last the display period.
