To fabricate a variety of large and medium-sized stainless steel sculptures for clients, we master the shapes and styles of stainless steel sculpture from geometric sculpture, round sculpture, abstract styles, characters, animals and plants. The fabrication details of stainless steel sculptures mainly include modeling, material selection, installation and application scenarios, here we will figure out the details.
Make mini clay sculpture or foam 3D printed small draft model of the design drawing to adjust the details, then enlarge the clay sculpture or foam to the actual size of the product in equal proportion, copied into hard material molds, such as plaster, or FRP. Puting stainless steel plates on the mold for manual forging molding and welding as a whole, a product is finished.
As to the fabrication materials, we commonly use 201 # stainless steel, 304 # stainless steel, 316 # stainless steel, also may choose iron or copper materials. Due to the salinity corrosion of the natural air, it is recommended mostly to use 304 # or 316 # stainless steel materials. Stainless steel material are not easy to rust, easy to clean, against from strong wind resistance, and has become the mainstream of modern urban sculpture. Surface treatment can achieve different effects according to the design requirements.
Larger sculptures generally need a skeleton inside to bear the weight. The stainless steel thickness of sculpture are generally 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm. The thicker the plate, the easier it is to make the ideal shape, the overall cost will be higher.
From the perspective of the Installation, the skeleton of the sculpture itself is generally welded with the thick iron embedded on the base, and the steel bar is welded under the embedded base. After the installation of the sculpture, the base will be pasted with marble or granite plate, suitable for park space, botanical garden,, residential area, square, shopping mall, hotel and other outdoor and internal places.
